Will there be commerce raiding in the game?

Will there be a form of commerce raiding? Like your enemies have shipping lanes and you can have ships raid commerce. Some what like the submarine war against Japan. Or do the resources magically appear on the nearest planet?

Yes. Oh, and thank you for using the (successfully prosecuted) sub offensive against Japan rather than the one with Germany. Too many people don't think about it even though it's the classic example of a crippling submarine offensive.

I thought I heard somewhere that you can put bounty on your enemies' economies for pirates to raid, so something like that.

Trade Centers and Refineries both put ships into space that move between locations and can potentially be caught in vulnerable positions. Destroying them denies that income to the owner of the ship, AND I believe you recover some amount of the resource it was carrying. I could be wrong about that last bit, so don't quote me on it.

Additionally, if a player has had a bounty placed on them, destroying any of their structures or ships will yield you, the destroyer, with a portion of said bounty.

Raiding a particularly unpopular enemy can be very profitable indeed. :P

In my last multiplayer game, a player lost almost everything, He scoured about the solar system with his high level capital ship raiding my tradeships.  I was in a two front war and could never catch up with him because the battles were on opposite ends.  He stay in the middle and made a small fortune from my ships, always making sure he was a phase jump out of reach. :(

I notice once your trade ships start pathing through a star it's a good idea to place a couple carriers and light carriers to defend them. Seems to work well with the deep grav well to attack fast.

The reason I mention it is I just finished reading Silent Victory by Clay Blair Jr. and I am a huge fan of Silent Hunter 4.
