How big is the download file going to be?

I have a useless slow internet connection at uni, so I was wondering how large the download file was.

Also Is there a way to archive the downloaded files from stardock central, port them to another pc via an external hard disk and then have stardock central on that machine unpack them and list them in the game manager window? You can do this with steam iirc but I don't know how to do it with SDC.

and yes , you can download it on ANY pc and move it to any pc and just register it on the one you can play it on.

1 gig seems pretty small for a new game these days. :NOTSURE:

Actually, 1gig is pretty big for sins. Textures aren't especially large, there aren't too many models, and levels aren't complex.

i was just comparing it to a game like c&c generals which is old now but was well over a gig.

but that is definately a good thing if they were able to create such a good looking game and make it alot easier for people to download. good work.

Gotta remember CnC had a story with scripted missions in it.

C&C was big because it had live action movies.

Yup. Just right click on it in SDC and pick archive, then copy the .sdc file from Program Files\Stardock\Stardock Central\BACKUP to the other machine and double-click it in explorer (if you've got SDC already installed there, as well).

pretty neat system for backup'ing the install files.
other download services completely refuse you to make such backups =)

1 Gig!! Thats all?!! I was expecting something like 5-6 gig. Quake wars doesnt have action movies or a scripted story and its 4.5 gig. 1 gig for a game that looks this good is pretty cool!

The download is inside a compressed archive, to save on bandwidth and download time.

Well ... al your mentioned games (Quake, CnC) have Levels - and very detailed levels
While Sins is .. vacum. ofcourse I would like a biger game :D but only if big comes in a form of Big textures, BIg models, HQ Sound and not Bad compresion.
