Thanks, for the link... i reinstalled it and still couldn't connect, i really wish i knew why, its very frustrating, especially since frog said he was going to be adding me to the list of beta testers.

Have you tried deleting your temporary internet files before installation? Brad posted something about this a few days ago.

the %temp% dir is where drengin downloads the temp-files for galciv and the other games while downloading, so it could be good to clear that one out too.

I just tried what you both suggesting, deleting all the tempary files on my computer... it still didn't work. I did notice though, that once it got past whatever the time limit is to find a connection, and i checked the proxy server information, it had old information stored there in a previous attempt to try and figure out what was wrong. That means that some information remained behind after the uninstall and deletion of the folders. Maybe it has something to do with that? I'm all out of idea other than reinstalling my OS and thats not about to happen any time soon. I really appreciate any help, i think i remember hearing something about people being back on the component manager again soon, or is that an idle fantasy created in my own brain? thanks

I seem to be having problems with the DGM as well, don't have a clue why though.
