Manual - Augmented

A friendlier version of the PDF game manual.

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet.

I have taken the time to go in and edit the manual included with the game in the install directory, and augment it so that it includes hyperlinks for navigation within the PDF, as well as bookmarks for more structured navigation.

It really makes navigating the document a breeze, as you can go to the table of contents and merely click where you want to go, and it will take you there. Once you are at your destination, you can click a main title header to navigate back to the table of contents. In addition of course I've added bookmarks that are structured in exactly the same way the table of contents is, for another way of navigating through the document.

I hope people will find this useful. Link follows.

Well, I guess not too many people need this. That's okay though. :)

There is always a need for a well indexed valid information source optimized for immediate reference.

BTW: It is nicely done. TYVM

Raziaar, thanks very much for your effort.

Question for Ironclad/Stardock - do you have any objection to the public distribution of the manual? (the file linked in the OP is essentially that, and it's still there, so I figure not). If not, would you mind if it were adapted to a Wiki format and updated to reflect the changes since the paper manual went to press?

Question for community in general - is there a Wiki for this game? Closest things I could find was the Wikipedia entry (which isn't really for detailed strategy and data, etc) and a German Wiki ( http://soase.wikidot.com/ ).

The Wiki page is: here.

It needs some TLC to be sure.

Spartan - can we stuff the Wikipedia page with data on all the ships, strategy, modding tutorials, etc? I thought the Wikipedia folks typically request that such content be moved to "gaming" wikis.

@Keith - general content of an informational nature is best. Data related to game play operations and detailed guides are highly frowned upon.

I'm glad you guys found it useful. I mean, it's not much... as it's only an 80 page manual, but it makes it a bit easier to navigate, and I figured since I was doing it for myself I'd share it here. :)
