Two Terran Races Vie for True Blue

Last night, I started a game. And for some added flavoring, I changed my Terran Alliance to the following:
Name: Terran Hegemony
Leader: Council of Seele (SOUND ONLY, props if you get the reference)
Homeworld: Terra
So I play the game for a while, and the Korath are EVERYwhere. I'm not sure what happened, but they were lightyears ahead of everyone else from the beginning. Just completely kicked everyone's ass. But that's not the point of the story.
After trying to go around the Korath for new un-colonized worlds, I notice that one of the planets I just found is blue in color, and has my flag. ::Boggle::
Wait, I thought I was the recently-renamed Terran Alliance. So I enounter my evil twin, and lo and behold, the Terran Alliance has claimed these worlds in their name!
So...you can probably understand how this could get confusing.
