After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".

I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.

At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

I expect that much will get done after the WB is finally posted.

If you have signed up to do something and can give status that would be great.  If you want to take on one of the open slots that's be fine too.  :)

Ok so that is a not a lot picking up the 16 colours from the background which is theAVMAN's
wall which is why I used it to go with suit, so got lack of choice here pallet is a lot of shades of pink try and change it and just get ignored and stick with pinks,
as all the balloons were pink on first try with this background moved on a bit from there .

Quite happy for someone else to come up with a better BootSkin.

I think you are doing great with the assets you have to work with.  Bootskins are a real challenge because of the limited color palette.

Anyone have any ideas?

Anything to do with graphics is a challenge but I like to try and join in.

I look at some of the BootSkins and you just think how the hell did they do that. it looks like a lot more than 16 colours but you know it cant have more so just sheer skill of whoever it was made it.

Testing results (you may be aware of all these or they may be in teh last 2%) [Vista testing]:
  • The inactive window trans may be  too high.  With stacked windows it gets very hard for me to get teh right one.
  • The upper right window frame is very white.  Seems a bit harsh for me
  • Some small shadow along the top and left might be useful
  • No "Please wait"
  • Start button is blank
  • Start panel is just borked.  ;)
  • User image is too low and left
Screenshots are available if requested.  Will test on XP later.

Downloaded your tester twice now as double check

First go crashed explorer had to reboot.

unzip it and apply not showing up in WB

Watching it as it loads into WB Windows XP Style gets highlighted no sign of HappyBirthday Blind
