Advent - Bombers have no textures?

Fired up a 2 player small random map. Advent/TEC, with me as the Advent (wanted to play with them since I didn't get a chance to look at them in the beta.) In the course of the game, I zoomed all the way in to look at some of my strike craft (only bombers in this game so far) and they don't appear to have any textures.

I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this, or had an Advent game they can check. Are they supposed to be this way?

I will try to get some screen caps tonight.

It's normal. It's a chrome-ish texture - the Advent bombers are remotely controlled drones rather than standard fighters.

So yes, they're supposed to be this way :)

Do the bombers/fighters actually do much damage?

I cant tell if its even useful to have some of these carriers over some heavy hitters?

Bombers do some very good damage (get 8-10 squads and watch stuff go boom), and fighters are very good for defense against bombers ;) Fighters don't do much damage to big ships, though.

Better still build a fleet of 25 carrier cruisers and some carrier caps and get 50+ strike craft. Things go boom real fast :P.

Except for LRM frigates and the like, of course.

You sure about that? I've noticed that sometimes texture caching can be a little slow when you first start up a game or change any of graphics settings. That "chrome-ish texture" is actually an untextured model.

To the OP, give it a minute or two and the textures should eventually load into memory.

Yes I'm sure, because it's been brought up with the devs before :)
