Black Screen thing

So I installed the Game and it worked fine. Today I get a Black Screen (cant even got to the task manager or anything). So I deleted all files... reinstalled.... game runs fine.. but it just seems to work once for every fresh install.
I tried if it was a reboot issue but it doesnt make a difference... I also tried all the things like turning of Intromovie and stuff. It is really weird as it runs perfectly the first time I start it up.... and crashes soo badly the second time i try it

I do like how fast Sins downloads but I realy dont want to do that every time I decide to start a game :P

btw It is also not a rocket luncher problem ^^

Do you change something in video settings that only takes effect on next launch? Or do you change any settings at all?

No the last couple of times I tried it I didnt change a thing..

Are you running Windows Vista with an nVidia video card and getting the blank screen at random times during the game? There is a known issue with nVidia drivers and the devs are working with nVidia to get it sorted out.

No I m running on Windows XP but with a nivdia GT 8500 video card. The game works great for hours. It just wont let me restart it after the frist time of running it. It crashes directly before any Logos or Mainmenu screen

Does it give any message about a minidump?

Vnugrda,

Are you running any security apps in the background? Some anti-virus programs can interfere, as can SpyBot, Popup Killers, AdAware, and other 'watcher' apps.

I tried without any security programs running the game but still no luck... also wouldnt they always cause a problem and not just when I try to restart the game?

I am getting the same thing after full installation of the game. Loads up with a black screen. I am able to tab out and noticed, briefly, it was the C++ runtime error. So I figured a reboot might fix it? Nope, but this time I am able to get minidumps saved into the Local Settings/Temp directory, not that it's readable in a txt format hehe.

Reinstallation isn't helping either on my end--

Win XP Pro SP2 (32bit)
2GB DDR2 800
8800 GTS 320
SB Live!

I think I am having the same issue, or a similar one. After launching, the game sits at a black screen for about 30 seconds, then returns to windows minimized. I cannot launch the minimized window, but I will get audio stuttering.

Windows XP SP2
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GFORCE 7950 GT (latest drivers)
Latest Windows Updates and Direct X

I have patched the game, uninstalled and reinstalled with no change.

(Fortunately it runs fine on my Vista system. Go figure.)

Anyone ever come up with a fix for this issue? Or find out whats causing it.

Just an update....
I checked if I might have been just to stupid and if it was still loading in the background or something but it never starts.
Also its not sound related I think and drivers for pretty much everything are up to date..... also its not a usb problem (As I went ahead and disabled the usb ports on my mainboard and removed the extra usb ports from my pc)

Yeah i cant think of what might be causing it. The only thing that is different for me now is I updated my vid card drivers. Possible i was using my actual sound card instead of my on board sound before i formatted might be something ill have to check again since that and my video card drivers might be the only difference. So weird that it worked perfect the first time except for my dam hard drive boot failure error.

Problem disapeared over night... I guess I shall not question it ^^

I'm still having the issue. Game begins to load, CPU usage spikes and memory increases a good bit for a few moments then the ingame cursor appears of which I can move around until I mouse over the invisible error box. Tab out and yup, C++ Runtime Error every dang time.
