Adding ships to fleets?

How is this done? At the moment I'm just disbanding and re-forming them every time...which is annoying.

I know about auto-fleet, but I have too many for the ships to end up where I want them.

You can set the production waypoint of your factories on the fleet (just click it on the fleet icon), and all ships built will fly over and join the fleet automatically.

Hope that's what you mean, anyway :P

Select the Fleet marker, hold shift (I think it was that button) and select the ships you want to add to the fleet.

Now hit F to enter the fleet creation menu and just hit the create fleet button, you do not need to disband the initial fleet. Keep in mind that you need to highlight the ship that you want to act as fleet leader or the last selected ship will become the leader.

Or if you want to add newly produced ship automatically just follow Annatar11 instructions.

I actually only have 3 factories (small map) so Annatar's suggestion wouldn't work well. :) I'll try the other one.

This was frustrating me a lot last night until I realized I needed to press F twice.

1. Select the ships
2. Press F to open the fleet menu.
3. Press F to turn the selected ships into a fleet.

It would be nice to get an "add to fleet" modifier key, or make it so when you select ships and right-click on a fleet marker the ships get added to the fleet (instead of just following it around).

the auto-join AND the waypoint join seem to both be broken for me.. and I cant seem to set a fleet as one of the numbered groups anymore :( is my install bugged?
