Random map limitations and missing options from beta2?

You guys need a suggestion subforum btw :)

Where be that wonderful set of options? Flagship on/off and pirates on/off would make a whole lot of people happy. Then there's the random map generator, what happened to our #stars and planets gig? The small, medium and large type thing is rather limited by comparison. I haven't played with creating custom ones with the map designer yet, which looks wonderful, but for just popping out a random map, the setup is severely inferior to the beta2 version.

You can add stars and planets manually in the in-game generator.

It's played in real time, and it's strategy... so by default it's real time strategy... it's just very deep real time strategy. For the record I've never played a game of Starcraft that was under 40 minutes... or really any other RTS for that matter.

This game is very deep, apparently very frustrating to the x-mas newb crowd.

There was a pirate toggle then because it was a function of the map generator--there were no premade maps. The equivalent now is to use the custom mapmaker to make a map with no pirate base.
