Auto-Placement of Buildings

I'm sure the solution to this will seem obvious once I find it however...

After my first or second game, buildings have begun being placed automatically for me. I am not allowed to actually pick the location any longer. This is quite annoying and I have scanned through most of the in-game option menus and see nothing to change auto-placement back to the way it was.

You probably pressed the hotkey to toggle it - 'K' as I recall. The button is also right above the ping button (to the left of the build menus) ;)

There's this thing called a "manual"...

Yes, I think you activated the auto-building-placement button that is above the ping button. I came to press it too unintentionally while playing, but I figured it out.

I found it, thanks. And I don't have a "manual" I got the game online... Though I will probably locate an online manual sometime... maybe.

Whats with the trolls and hostile bullshit i'm seeing on this forum? For example I see people asking for ship movement during combat... Even if it plays ZERO role in how the combat actually plays out... it would make the game much more "pretty" for lack of a better word.

I mean, my roommate walks in and asks some questions about the game... and one of the first things he said was "why does everything just sit still and shoot?

The combat in this game is pretty "bland" and basically you just sit back and watch stuff happen... at least let players watch ships fly around and shoot stuff.. rather than stand still and... well... shoot stuff.

*sigh* I just assumed a game like this would attract less of those types. The "pop" culture type games... Halo for example... or WoW... are so hugly popular and easy to play that any douche or troll can participate. I just expected a more mature group with this one.

And yeah, I found the PDF in the game folder after having searched around a bit. Sadly I remember having seen a posting asking or (offering) the manual for download so I assumed thats where you got it from...

Please remember, most/many games do not ship or offer a digital guide in the file directory.

Hell, the one that comes with this game is of little use or help... For example... the "special abilities" on ships are not described as far as I can tell... In fact the only way I see to actually know what the 4 abilities on ships do (Unless you make a guess by the name) is to play the game over and over and use those ships...

Honestly i've found multiple capital ships to be nearly USELESS as the other choices are far better in almost every situation... but I still build (and then suicide) some of them just so I can try to figure out what the abilities do for future reference.

maybe a link to the manual should be put on the forums for easy download, as most people don't know they have it already...
