I just blew up three of my own colonies with the Megalith

Please implement a "self-destruct" button on a timer for the missiles. :p

lol that wouldn't be something I would advertise, but I guess you have a good point.

Oh crap, I just realized I launched another volley afterward and they're now heading merrily to my planets.

Make that six colonies.

That's....unfortunate.  :p  Perhaps a popup message verifying you wish to target the colony in question might help?

LOL! I wanna try that; but too lazy to play a game just for that. I love the megalith. Take that pirates!

No, I launched them like a half hour before then from another solar system, then took the planets forgetting I launched them.

Durrrrr.

Thankfully, they survived with massive damage due to emergency infrastructure + shield generator. ;_;

RANDOM EVENT:

A friendly ally, Carbon 16, has bombarded your planet with a nuclear railgun from another stellar system! -100 million people!

implement :

Cow launcher. A cow has been launched at your planet, 300million people have died of mad cows disease. Moooooooooooooo

That is the single coolest thing ever. May they never change the ability to launch across the stars, ever.

So awesome. Bahahahahahahhaha! I can just imagine ingame chat with that happening between players. <3

LMAO!!! That is the funniest Sins story I've heard in a long time :)

Can you upload the replay? I HAVE to watch it.

What's really funny is that the missiles just kept coming.
haha, that would be something. if your empire is sooo huge that you cant even find your own superweapon that keeps autofiring on your own colonies. hehe.
He probably didn't own them prior to firing but it takes the shells a long time to travel between two solar systems.

I thought that the Novalith cannon can only target colonies within the same solar system, did I misread the description or something?

Anyway, some sort of "Cancel Volley" button for the cannon could be useful, in RL Cruise missiles can be self-destructed too. Or just have the autocast off ;)

I've only got the regular save, didn't think about saving the replay :(

edit: loading up some autoreplays to see if they're new enough, thanks for the anti-PEBCAK feature IC, but something faster than a x8 speed on a 5 hour game might be useful :p

So basically, you're able to target your own colonies with the Novalith-Cannon, but aren't allowed to target yourself with the Vasari one (where targeting your own system to stop an enemy fleet would actually be useful)?

Seems like someone didn't quite think this one through *shrugs*

No, please RTFT. I targeted the colonies before I captured them in another star system. Keep in mind the shots take an hour and a half to go between systems.

Replay just caught the cannon shots at the very end, so I'm very lucky. I'll just post a YouTube.

Note that the Cannon description actually says you can only fire inside a solar system, not interstellar. So it's a mistake in some way (either in the description or the cannon)

In my personal opinion be proud that after traveling that far and for so long that your shots still landed dead on accurate considering the constant rotation of the planets around the stars and the speed of the shot all figured in. I would say to give your gun crews a raise, however due to the horrible death of millions of TEC tax payers, I would then promptly shoot the gun crews if they were still alive if not then shoot their decendents and or semi-sentient pets/relatives. But aleast not before saying "Good Shot old boy, good shot."

But then again this is just my personal opinion.

haha, imagine the news on that one.

"on the brighter side of the system, gun crews from the 103rd novalith group successfully shot a nuclear device from across star systems. making them the first ever gun crews to do this in the whole millenium on human history.

*que video of crew partying*

"unfortunately millions of TEC colony civilians died in the process since their colony was "in the way"."

*que video of gun crew being executed*
