Disappearing Vasari Weapon Effects

Hey guys, I'm absolutely loving the game so far, but I'm having an odd problem whenever I play as the Vasari. Generally about 30 minutes into the game, all of the weapon effects on my ships will disappear. They will sit there, and make the sounds like they are firing, and the enemies will take damage, but no bullet or torpedo effects will appear on the screen. This only happens when I play the Vasari, and it happens every time I've tried them.

I have completed several hour long games with the other races with no problems whatsoever. If anyone has any ideas on what is causing this it would be most appreciated.

I have two Nvidia 7800's in SLI with a dual core processor and 2 gigs of ram.

Try increasing the particle effects limit. Go here:

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

Open up user.setting using notepad.

Change MaxParticleCount 6000 to a higher number.  Please note that the higher you go, the bigger performance impact you'll see. ;)

I have the same problem, but it's ONLY Vasari weapons, not any other (my particle setting is 99999). All that 'fix' seems to do is delay it for a long while, but it still happens. Is it possible that Vasari weapon effects that are already done/fulfilled/finished/whatever are not dumping properly?

A way to get it back though is to save, exit, then restart the game and load you're save.

The Vasari heavy cruisers use alot of pulse weapons that get the count up rather fast, but at 99999 it shouldn't matter. I agree is takes away from the experience a little bit, even more than a low framerate does.

Going to have to agree with Warnstaff there, something definitely isn't clearing out properly. Also it does seem to happen more with Vasari than with the other factions. There's no reason why at least some of the weapon effects on a small to medium battle shouldn't show when nothing else is going on in your galaxy. Even with the "fix" mentioned, it only delays the inevitable. I would be greatly pleased if the devs would add this issue to their list of bugs, in case there actually is a real issue with something in the code.
