More relaistic solar systems

is it possible to link other star systems together by phase lanes other then the suns?

Or perhaps only by a wormhole, I would rather see interconnected solar systems instead of one solar system with 50 planets on it.

There's an unrealistic amount of planets in a solar system for the same reason there's unrealistic phase lanes keeping you from freely roam your fleet. It's all about reasonable gameplay.

It would in fact make more sense to have a galaxy where solar systems are connected via phase lanes instead of a solar system with lots of planets. But a game can be groundbreaking only up to a point...

Most of my custom maps are full of random types of asteroids with just a few planets. I find it slightly more realistic, and harder for people to entrench themselves.

OK realistic was maybe not the right term, how about aesthetically pleasing? I find it less weird on the eyes to see rocks and debris floating between the planets than having a solar system that looks like a pool table :)

I admit I think realism is the wrong word, I think hegmonia had the best system for moving around, it would of been nice to have a huge free form solar system with pahse lanes connecting other solar systems only.

still love this game, think I like the Advent best overall though.

Would love to see a campaign in an expansion.
