I GIVE UP

I GIVE UP

well, I guess its my turn to have 2 days worth of investment go down the frickin toilet based on a random dice roll (called an EVENT.) The evil bullshit "taking over your planet" happened to me now. Game over.
I had the other races destroyed or on the run but now these uber ships cannot be beat and the Draginol are pumping them out like muffins from an oven, all the planets have 100% morale (gee imagine that. no cheating here though)The system has a dozen uber dreadnaughts protecting it (as if anybody had a chance against ONE of those ships.) Oh yeah and did I meantion the super duper Mother(f___er) of all ships yet? I got that rippin up the galaxy as well.
WHAT FUN. Cant wait to start up a new game and have that happen again.
Please tell me the updates reduce this shit. Or allow a DIFFICULTY SLIDER/toggle/whatever so that idiots like me who are playing on FOOL dont have to contend with random dice roll game enders if they dont want to.
If not, than this game is a waste of time for me and I will put it up for sale on EBAY.

I know. BFD. One guy in a million dosnt like the game or CANT HANDLE the AI. Blah blah. It wont stop the rest of the world from whoopin it up with GalCiv. (and it wouldnt be meant to.) But I have better things to do with my time than play no win situation games or games that suck the fun out at the last minute(including the OTHER space game thats out there.)

I'd rather have a "you had a dream" event where none of your empire building ever really happened. You just play for days and get the event and boom, you have just a few planets. Not much different than the Draginol event except the Draginol takes a little longer.
I feel cheated by that dice roll.. I usually like to be kissed if THAT happens.

No sense everyone getting their hair in a dither here. Wampyre probably has some left over frustrations from messing with MOO3 first, then he gets this game and it has some frustrating features too. Let him get the update and try it, then lets welcome him back with a little understanding... :)

konfuzed...the version is legal.
your response is insulting and i wont even respond to it. I stand by my assessment of the games imbalances out of the box.
To the other guy who was amazed that I played a game for 2 days...I dont play it for infinite hours straight...I have a life. I play, come back to it. I play..come bck to it.
I am not a newbie to gaming, been playing for quite a few years, probably longer than 90% of you on the board though that is neither here nor there; but in any case the frustrations were NOT because I dont know how to play the game. I just didnt want to have yet another game where I had little control over what was going on..get the drift?
That said, I know the update has addressed some of the imbalances. I'm cross-eyed with delight because of that.
I love this game.
I overreacted.
I am a hot head.
Worse things gave been done by better men (Eddy Money)
I will play the updated version.
I will only post questions I would like answered.
I will not whine.
I will eat my vegetables
I appreciates Brad's patience .
I will fight no more forever (is that how it goes?)
Anyway, sorry to have ruffled feathers.
I will be a good boy now.
Cheers

BTW, I havent updated it yet because I cant figure out how to register SDC and I cant download the update directly because the game is installed on another computer while my modem is on this slower one. (I know...dumb move, buying a computer without a modem.)

Cheers back at you Wampyre, I was mistaken in pigeon holing you with those other gamers I mentioned. They never ever, and I mean never, admit when they overreacted. I respect that alot. I hope things go alot more smoothly for you! :)

thanx Spru-can. I realize thgis may not be read as its so far back but I have been without power since Friday April 4. Still dont have power...using a generator to produce some electricity. (Bad ice storm in Michigan.) The choice I've had to make: heat or GalCiv? hmmmm, heat won out for awhile but now I getting a little computer time between heating sessions.

The Draginol event hit me as well but was definitely preceded by a warning about something dark growing on the planet and the recommendation to abandon the colony. The system contained three planets that were all producing 1000BC a turn and cranking out 3 Dreadnaughts per turn. Fortunately, I was cranking out Overlords by this point. But it was going to cause a pretty big problem to take over the 24 Billion population system.

Sadly, I had not yet patched, and I got hit by the (now fixed) bug where you are still bound by UP rules after you've left. I was just gonna destroy the entire system with Terror Stars.

Next time... next time, I will definitely follow the Senate's advice. :)
