Vista:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

Depending if its a single player or multiplayer there are folders for each :)

I think the XP path in the FAQ is not quite correct, someone pointed out it should be \username\Local Settings\Application Data ..
