Does CursorFX fix problem of cursors disappearing behind windowblinds title bars?

I've been an owner / supporter of object desktop, cursorXP, and object dock for many years.  I stopped using cursorXP (plus) because my cursors would always disappear behind WB alpha blended title bars.  Has this been fixed in cursorFX?  What do I gain by upgrading?

That looks like the unresolved occasional z-order bug into the Windows' layered window engine. It isn't something related to CursorXP or CursorFX code, but rather a combination of video drivers, application and operating system layers support.
I guess if it happens with CursorXP, chances are it will happen with CursorFX, however CursorFX has a new and better code.
I suggest you try the Freeware version of CursorXP and see if it solves your problem. You can always uninstall and install CursorXP Plus again.

hey I have the same thing, it's really annoying. I'm going to uninstall CursorFX after reading your post because I came to the forum to see If I could sort it out. Obviously not. Shame because I love some of the cursors but can't handle the cursor going behind the task bars and windows. Too annoying. Cheers :)

Well, that does it for me too, never had this problem with CXP, but now I am constantly looking which window the cursor has chosen to hide behind, and not even using anything else than the native XP Visual Styles

I have a very hard time believing this, the problem only appeared for me _after_ installing CFX and never showed while I was using CXP...so forgive me if I say newer ain't always better...for me this release is several steps backward in manageability and looks, the preview does not adjust itself to the size of the cursors, so I often get to see clipped cursors and only parts of a set coz it won't fit in the window, and no scrollbars of course...only this awful fake Glass like ... yuck...:(

so I will be rolling back too...if only to not be forced to have my cursors shared with every one on this box...in the shared documents folder of all places... :o

UPDATE: Rollback went almost without problems, but be careful when uninstalling CFX...make sure to move the themes folder if you want to hang on to your cursors

I personally have noticed a significant decrease in the occurrences of this bug once i upgraded to CFX. So much so that I can say I'm glad I upgraded.
I do still occasionally, though very rarely, still find the cursor playing hide & seek behind window borders, and again, occasionally but rarely, 'underneath' docks and other desktop objects but the occurrences are few and far between.

If you *never* had the problem with CXP you're simply very fortunate. There were times I would go for days without running CXP to avoid frustration.

Hope you have the same luck again. :)

I also have the problem with the pointer hiding behind borders and docks as well.. I have the most recent update for my graphics card and a recent version of CFX..

I am running Windows XP Home with SP2. I have used Cursor XP (free version) with no problems. I have tried the free version of Cursor FX. I agree with DigitalCHET.......very rarely do I have the problem of the cursor playing hide and seek. I liked Cursor FX so much that I finally purchased Cursor FX Plus. Still on rare occasions the cursor will play hide and seek....both those occasions are few and far in between. Very happy with my Cursor FX Plus. :)

I too have the "disappearing" cursor dilemma. It seems to have begun within the last 2 weeks. Perhaps there is something in WB 6 code that is not working well CursorXP?

Has anyone found a fix?

Frustrated in RoseCity.
