The Dark Fleet

What does it do?

I got the dark fleet option yesterday and it's set on autocast as default. I'm not sure what it actually does though? I never saw anything, anyone else?

from what it seems, you just get an influx of new ships every so often wherever you have the phase stabilizer. I didn't noticed if it went up against the ship cap, but for some reason, I don't think so. I hadn't realized it was adding shipts to those sectors until I came accross and there were almost a hundred ships in the two sectors I had places the stabilizers.

I have tested this. The new ships you gain do count against your ship cap. I had to max my ship cap and still ran out. The nice thing is you can disable the ones you don't need and keep the frontal planets auto enabled in order to keep a full fleet always in the front. Not sure if it is just random or not on types of ships you get though..some of the ships I had not reasearched yet which was kinda cool.

Psyke pretty much got it. It uses antimatter to spawn a random assortment of ships for you, and it does count against the fleet cap. At worst you'll be one ship over (you can have 1 available point and it'll spawn a ship still). It's basically free reinforcements that don't need to be built.

Alright thanks guys. My game ended shortly after I got the tech so I probably just didn't notice it.

Sounds like people who are frustrated with defense should go Vasari.

They do have excellent defense, especially with the nano thing that slows enemy attacks. The TEC shield generator is still nice to have though, as well as the advent damage bonus :P.

well, they have definitely come in handy for when I miss a pirate attack warning while helping my daughter with her homework lol.
