Livia

Today at 16:10 CET 28/02/2002 my daughter Livia was born.
Sorry, could seem not strictly a GC matter, but it really is since I'm also asking Brad to include the solar system "Livia" in the basic list for GC ;)

The dad, Gherardo :D

PS: my other son Marco is crying about HIS solar system! ;p

gherardo,

Congratulations. Be sure to bring her up right (as a GalCiv fan ;) ). Of course, you will not have much
time to spend on GC for a while.

Cheers,
Jack

Congrats. Livia sounds like a good name for a star system, so does Marco.

Wasn't Livia the name of one of the more evil Roman emperor's wife? :)

Congrats, Gherardo.

I have to respond to Cari"ELF"... ;)
I suppose she speaks so because I usually play as dwarf in RPGs... :-D

take care, Gherardo

Livia was the wife of Cesare Ottaviano Augusto (The First Emperor) and mother of Traiano (The second).
Attached a google translation from an italian site.

LIVIA DRUSILLA
(58 a.C. - 29 d.C.)

Wife of Augusto and mother of Tiberio. Daughter of Mark Livio Druso Claudiano and Aufidia, in the 38 to C. married Ottaviano, after to have divorced from Tiberio Claudius Nerone. To the future emperor she carried the useful relationship of two of the most powerful lineages of the republican aristocracy, that one of the Livi and that one of the Claudi, beyond to one balanced mind and a devout person affection.
It represented for its beauty and pudicizia, the ideal type of woman and roman emperor.
The hints with regard to its participation to a conspiracy do not have foundation, in which some members of the imperial family died, for giving the power to the Tiberio son. Adopted in the testament from Augusto and received in the Gens Iulia, after its dead women taken the name of Julia Augusta.

PS: we do study roman history for 10s of equivalent years and we do learn latin (in some cases greek too)

Cari, didn't wish to be ......... at all.
Peace? :)

So, tell me why "CariElf"?
No, I was serious. I like history. :) I like peace, too. I was absolutely horrified by the reality depicted in the movie We Were Soldiers. Somehow, every other movie with war that I'd seen (The Messenger, The Patriot, etc) didn't really hit home just how awful war is. I never really liked FPS in the first place, but now I'm well and truly disgusted with anything that would make war seem entertaining.

Cari is what my friends and family call me (although my given name is Carolyn). Elves are my favorite race to play in role-playing games, and I've always liked fairy tales. When I first got on-line, I used to hang out in chat rooms a lot and I used the name LadyImp. I used to have a lot more mischievious sense of humor, but then I went through a period of my life when I was depressed and "LadyImp" no longer seemed appropriate. So I changed to LadyCariElf, which was still fanciful, but did not necessarily indicate impish behavior.

I hope you've got out of your depression phase. The workload you currently have trying to get GacCiv up and running probably doesn't help. Especially with the constant bug reports. Though Brad does point out that you're all doing it because you love it.

CariElf is a good name. Have you named a solar system yet?

Paul.

Yes, I have gotten out of my depression phase. It was probably mostly because I was a teenager and teenagers are more susceptible to depression. I'm extremely happy working here at Stardock. Things have been somewhat stressful here lately, but I handle stress better than I used to.

I don't think that I named any star system after myself, but I added some names to the solar system list awhile back, mostly out of literature I think.

Hey, next time I'll be in the States, I'll have to visit my friends in Livona. ;)

That would be fun. :)
