Assigning Starting Positions

Is there any way to Assign starting positions for players on a map. I looked through the PDF manual and could not find it. I looked through the Galaxy Forge Reference thread and could not find it either.

Basically I made a Map with Galaxy Forge and want to make sure both allied Empires start near each other, not in 2 separate star systems. In galaxy Forge they have assigned planets but they still sometimes start in different locations. Is there something I need to select when I host or start a singleplayer game... or is something left on that could be making them start in random locations?

There is currently no way to do this.

This really needs to be added, because it is a feature I need to play in order to have fun with my friends. :(

Definately...

I don't want to restart the game multiple times to play with my friends because they start with the wrong homeworld.

This should be in the next update...

You can assign which teams go where, however -- and players from the proper team will go to the right place (usually).

I'll try it again..

...Still didn't work. They really need to add this into the next update, or put out a small minor patch.

They've already said this should be in the next Galaxy Forge version.

There's another post about this.

You assign each homeplanet a player such as "newplayer 0" etc etc.

And on the top bar with file etc etc, you go to edit, then players. and for every player you go down and change the teamindex to say 1 or 2 or which ever depending on the team, well, that's what i read to do, did it, and now my team have all spawned in the places they should have spawned at :).
