MOO 3 The game you Hate to Hate

I tried, I tried, I tried….. It was sooooo hard for me to return this game, but after turn 300 it just isn’t a fun game it’s more like work. The manual is missing A LOT of information forcing you to look for help on the forums, No basic personal options like naming your planets or leaders or regions. On the main planet map screen all the planets keep the same color even after ownership…so when you zoom out you cant tell what planets are yours….Very little graphics, and the system font will make you go blind…What you get with this game is spread sheet after spread sheet of information with nothing fun to back it up!!….no cut scenes or (original) pictures to compliment what’s going on. What you get is your end turn report (sitrep) with a small generic picture with some text as to what had happened. When contacting another race you get about 5 seconds of animation and then the image stop. Don’t get me wrong the game plays well but it’s all cake no icing, I’m not going to make this out to be a review…It’s not worth $50.00…No way no how.. I’m just glad I got my money back. I’ll wait until this one goes below $15.00 (unfortunately I won’t have to wait long) and buy it back just to play in between waiting for new games to come out….Sorry!! :(

It's OK, man, you made the right decision. You can return to it when it's $14.99 and patched to heck and back, and... well, maybe you won't, though... for me the underlying *design* elements of the game are disappointing- and too complex for an AI to master, ie not *designed* with a posible AI in mind from day one which spelled doom for the SP experience.

I am still upset about MOO 3. I had waited a long time for this game. I kept hoping that if I just kept playing, the fun would start. I did get over the learning cliff but then ultimately the game is just a hollow shell of no real AI or game play.

we're all bummed out about moo 3 i think. i have lurked in the moo forums for months and it really irked me when they'd rip on galciv because i knew that all the regulars over here were probably moo fans and hoped moo 3 was awesome.

I should have known something wasn't quite right when no Demo was offered.

The used the name to get some sales, and we fell for it. IG and QS won't get another penny from me. THose forums are full of delusional crazies that think the game is hot stuff. Oh well. Galactic Civilizations was preordered with the return money from MOO3, so I'm hoping this game rocks, and so far, I"M DAMN IMPRESSED.
