Well, how can I get the game , :o)

Hi all,
It's been a while I lurk here, now that GalCiv is near ready I step in light ! :)
The mass of things I just read about MOO3 tilted definitely the balance towards GC ... I'm a long-time fan of 4X game, from RFST to Moo1,2, BOTF, the last one being SE4.
BTW, can someone tell me how GC compares to SE4 ? SE4 is a neat game, with top notch support and great mods available, but I got bored with the micromanagement hell that creeps up mid game, and was disappointed by the feeble economics/colony management system..

Well, my main point is : how can I get GC ? I've read the last news, they say :
* "Game will be available in retail in US" : damn, I'm in France, won't never see it here ...

* "Stardock allows to buy game directly and dload the game" : huh, how and when ?? I clicked the button, it opened a list of e-sales shops, WTF ?? Will this option only be available later ??

* "Drengin.net sells it in a pack" : If I buy now at Drengin will I have the latest GC version or the old OS/2 one ??? I'm rather reluctant to give up 25-30 bucks for the other games of the pack, that don't interest me much, but if I must ;p ...

can someone enlighten me ?
Thx for your attention !

From Brad's Post"
"Getting the game..
Stardock itself will be selling the OEM version directly (i.e. not in the retail box but in a DVD case instead). It will be $44.95 and while you wait for the CD to arrive you will be able to immediately download the game. The download can be broken up into parts (i.e. core game + multimedia + bonuspak) so if you're really anxious, you can start playing as soon as the core game is done downloading while awaiting the multimedia suff. Shipping outside North America will be a flat $10. But this way, if you live outside North America you'll be able to get the game right away and it won't cost much more than it would cost buying it locally later."

I think you get a seriel number thats gives you access to download it on the Stardock Centreal.

As far as mods I can tell you myself and a few other people are working on a site oriented towards mod making and such, and we hope to have everything done by release :)

BTW: This game is fun :)

Thx DarkHelmet, I didn't read the news well - or is it the small font ? :notsure: :)
I figured Stardock should sell BY NOW, in fact it'll be available only at the end of the month... Wait wait wait :(
Now that a good deal of MOO3 buyers want to return their games, maybe it's time for an early release of GalCiv ? :D :D :CONGRAT:

I regretfully returned my copy of MOO3. I was going to go on about it, but this is neither the time nor place. I can handle a large download for GalCiv from the web... what about it?
