Missing tech? Tourism...

I only realized it was missing on my nice gigantic map (which was all going so well) when the stinking Caritoids went and built the Galactic Taxi Service. BAH! So I loaded an autosave to take a closer look - because if I'd had it, I would've built it, after all!

I did study Tourism, as it shows up in the archives - but enhanced tourism doesn't show, despite having tourism as its only requisite tech. Not only that, but the tourism social project Galactic Taxi Service (BEFORE the caritoids built it, as I loaded the autosave) still didn't show up! Humbug! What's wrong?

Is it a bug, or something to do with alignment? I was in the white good outlay, and then killed some worms for a MASSIVE PQ bonus and was stuck back in neutrality.

Other bugs I'm suffering from are "string not found" under some civilization's moralities, and occasional skips in the audio (though that happens in windows media player and most places too, everywhere except winamp, even with sound acceleration cranked down...) and the mp3 codec from the audio sticky above seems to be a corrupted download or something saying an acm file couldn't be opened.

Et al >_<

What mod are you using? I don't remember this improvement.

Ah.

Either way, Enhanced Tourism hasn't shown up either. I played a game before and I snagged the service without problems - but I installed another mod since then, the Omega Pack. At least I think that was since then.

Oh. Doh. I thought Tourism came with the game itself. It seems to be part of the EvilGood pack. So it must be morality based!? DAMN THOSE WORMS!

Specifically, I have..

GoodEvilImprovementPack (also has techs)
Advanced Transports and Freighters
Cultural Capital
Religious Capital
Enhanced Terraforming
Expanded Invasion Strategies
Nidaros Event Pack
OmegaPack

And several plain events, of UP and generic event nature.

Anything I should know about them? Stupid me with tourism tech >_<

ok, there seems to be conflict between the Id used in Nidaros pack and the one use in Omega pack:
Galactic Taxi Service as the Id 30 as the Portable Crystal Computer. So unless you want to modiy the files to be sure that no Id is used twice, you can't play with both packs.

Ah.

Okay, so, lets see if I can go modify that.. any way I can save my existing game? Can I just modify the Portable Crystal Computer to another ID and keep playing?

Uh.

What ID should I change it to?

I fear that you can't do anything for your existing savegame if you aren't well versed into modding.
Galciv Writer will help you to modify all Ids but it will be tedious.
And if you remove the Omega pack files and decide to play your savegame, you could have strange behavior.

Some people might even consider it "cheating" :D LOL :D

If you consider CDT strange behavior.

Its strange i have no problem with both Packs together, i can build both without problems. If you start GCWriter and use the sort by ID option such an overlay can, in most cases, be solved automatically

darn. so i can't just pick a random ID like 9999223109123 and pop that in there instead, hey. poopers.

Is there a program I can use to compare my in-use MODs to each other and make sure none of them are conflicting.. and thereby find a free ID? I'd hate to change it only to have it conflict with something else.

Some improvements don't seem to need or use IDs at all in the Omega pack, while others do. I don't understand that.

Ah, thanks.

Only problem is it's giving me problems connecting to the downloads and updates themselves :/
