Slow scrolling problem with GalCiv

I have a strange scrolling problem in GalCiv...

When I play the game on my 2.4Ghz laptop, 256MB ram and a ATI mobility 7500 the screen scrolling is horribly slow. It feels like scrolling with a 2 fps framerate. Constantly stuttering and skipping parts. Very annoying and it makes the game almost unplayable.

However, the strange thing is, when I scroll by using the other method (pressing and holding the mousebutton) it scrolls perfectly fine! So..anyone an idea why this happens?

I don't know if it relates, but I've noticed that when AutoSave is on, the game slows to a crawl during one of the AutoSaves... I turned that off and I don't have that problem anymore. Of course, I also lose some functionality. Try it.

Note to the developers - if that's a common thing that people complain about - I personally wouldn't care if the game would let me know that it is autosaving. Like maybe a little popup or obvious message in the display...

I've solved the problem :)

It turned out to be the cpu speedcontrol of my laptop. For some reason it kept switching between 'performance' and 'quiet' mode... I downloaded an app to disable it and now the game works fine. Anyway, thanks for the help guys.
