Question About Civilization Ability

I've been wondering about one of the abilities you can pick when creating a new civilization. It's called "Creativity". The description says that it gives your civilization a greater chance of making "groundbreaking discoveries". What exactly are these discoveries? :notsure: Can anyone tell me what this means?

I do believe it means that the extreme morality level needed for the Good and Evil unique technologies is lowered to an extent.

Oh, I see, they didn't have enough space to call it Postmodern Moral Relativism?

Creativity improves the chances of the 'Unknown' anomaly type giving you a research boost. (The boost is equal to 25% of the full cost of the technology you are currently researching.)

I doubt that, actually. Look at the .anomaly file. There are two different research anomalies: one that gives a 25% bonus to research and the "phenomenal advancements" message, and another one that gives a 0% bonus and the "waste of time" message. I would bet that the game decides which one it is when the anomaly is generated and doesn't care which race collects it or what their stats are.

From scanning early posts on the subject of "creativity", my understanding is that it increases the chance of you suddenly completing a research project ahead of schedule. It more like a random event than anything else.
