My dad didnt know who I was today...

Today was my brother's high school graduation. im a year below him, and went to his celebration..... im so excited for him! So, my parents are divorced, and i havent seen my dad in a year. He ended up showing up to sit with us in the stands today, which brought mixed emotions- dammit, why havent you called me or visited in a year? Whereve you been? who is to blame this time? *didnt say those things, but thought them!* so he comes up to us, and i had looked him in the eyes a few times when he was walking up , and I had expected him to recognize me- besides, ive been his daughter for 17years... i mean REALLY. i havent dyed my hair a funky color, i havent gained or lost an amazing amount of weight, the only thing was that my hair was a bit shorter. thats IT. I gave him a hug, and said hi, how are ya? (thinking he'd recognize my VOICE AS WELL), and hes like " Hi paula, nice to see you!" my name is not paula. my COUSINS name is paula. he looks up to see the actual paula, and hes like "whoa! who am i hugging?!"
yeah. Way to add to the moment. Damn it all, i tell ya.

Sounds like you should nominate him for the "Worst Dad of the Year" award!  That was truly dispicable of him and I feel very badly for you.

no, im like 5'11", and shes 5'6". I have dark blonde hair, she had dyed red hair. shes kinda skinny, im , well, a lot bigger than skinny. lol but GARRRRR made me mad!

Is there any possibilty that this was your dad's sense of humour? Not very funny, I know, but I'm trying to understand how he could have failed to recognise you unless it was some sort of joke on his part...
