menu crash

Since I installed Altair Prophecy to galciv, whenever I hit the menu button in the top center the game crashes to desktop.
Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I started a new game and it is working fine now, so it must have been a corrupt game. Too bad as it had a really good start.
