Theoretically its possible to play even more games, but it will end injust fastly clicking the turn button (not interesting)

There are strategies that allow one to play GalCiv in a way that is both enjoyable to that person and fast compared to the way others play. Please don't judge whether the person who plays fast does or does not enjoy the game. Play the game you want to play. Explore the different strategies. You may find some interesting for a while and then move on to another strategy. Play the different size maps, different combintions of foes and levels. Play to enjoy.

Yes, you can play the game in about 20 minutes. Naqmir has a strategy that allow him do that and still become pure evil (or good, if that is his choice). Does he enjoy it - you bet he does. Does everyone, not on you life!

You can dramatically reduce the amount of time a game takes if you:
1. Set autosave to something like every 10 turns.
2. Turn off ship animations
3. Use rally points for your planets and autolaunch ships
4. Use the Govenor's build queues (and turn off the GNN updates).

I will say turn off any animations, don't follow ships, don't watch AI battle ...

And in order to be able to have quick turn, you need to avoid eveything that waste time. And ships management can be tedious.

One strategy to win fast, is to go for an alliance victory with all majors AI and playing a no ships games (not even constructor). And to reduce freighter management (since trade is really nice on gigantic), buy the freighters from the AI, and if possible, near their planets.

Many stratiges here, but AFAIK, nobody has managed it with a game smaller than large. Several have managed in the 50k+ range with medium. Also, upgrading to AP helps a lot. I don't know if a large maso 60k is possible without AP.

Beyond that:
1) AI level matters very much.
2) Military victory scores higher than other types
3) Get as many techs as you can
4) Get as many TG as you can
5) Play with all AI set to Pure Evil seems to help
6) Manage your morale and population well

Hope some of these help :)

GH has answered most of the points, but there are differences even in his list. AI morality doesn't matter too much. If you have problems allying with 7 AIs, the set some pure evil and some pure good and hope they anialate each other so that by 2190 there may be only 3 or so left. The minimal size map that I have gotten 60K from is Huge, rare, tight clusters. Right now, I normally go for alliance victory since it eliminates a lot of minutia from the game. On the other hand, my game today was a record length. For some reason I could not get all 7 AIs to be friendly/close at the same time and be able to bring the to alliance in the same turn (to avoid being sucked into a petty war between AIs you are allied against those you are not yet allied with)

It seemed to make about a 2k-3k point difference in my games between having 7 chaotic evils and 7 pure evils. Unless I'm just getting better... :)

I do that and just blow all thier planets up. Of course, all the AI ally with each other and I have to get them all at once. 17-21 TS = $$$ LOL

Never end a game before 2190.

what means i am a nice technician? how can i improve the tech more? i have my sliders set at 70/15/15 and i build all the research improvemets as fast as i can. Sometime i move the sliders to rush some improvements, but at masochistic level the computer is very fast, and is very hard to a newbie (even if i am a expert at civilization) to survive till the military power can be build.
I don't build ships till i arrive to dreadnought tech is that right?
Thx again for the kind suggestions

"Technician" is his player name and nice refers to "morality" icon. ;)

The key is to survive the early game and you be the one to choose the fight. That means high diplomacy and keeping everyone happy with you until you decide to take someone out. High diplomacy and bribes are the keys to keeping alive long enough for you to be able to choose the fight. I use 100% research or 100% social all the time. Don't put anything into military until I am ready to make a move later game.

I am sure everyone plays differently though, but at Maso I think everyone plays the survival game early. :D
