Stars.Lst

Hello everybody from an (old) newbie... back here since the OS2 days.

I have some basic questions to this wonderful community

What if I modify the stars.lst file? Am I allowed to change the names in there?
Am I allowed just to change or I can add, delete and modify lines?
And last one: is there any pre-defined association between the names used and the races?

No predefinition, exept Sol to you

Editing the list won't cause problems, I'm not sure about adding names

You can edit it any way that you like, except that if there aren't enough names for the stars, it'll crash when trying to create the galaxy.

What about planet names? I've noticed that the Sol system planets start out with "Earth", and also "Mars" and "Saturn". Others are often numbered SolVI etc.

How is it that these planets get custom names? I would like to be able to name some of the more important places in my galaxy.

The GalCiv code manually names the planets in Sol system. Those are the only planets that ever get spcial names.
