German version of Galciv with English patch 1.2

Hi,

Got the German version of Galactic Civilization recently. Is it possible to install the English patch 1.2 and run the game without crashes/problems?

It's possible, but you may encounter some problems (you should change to a full english version, its downloadable on this site.

PS:
I'm working on a german version of 1.20 but it has some bugs. It will be published when they are evened

Thanks for your answer.

What kind of problems?

Is the English version dowloadable for free if I own the German one? I got it for €5 and don't really want to spend $50 for the English version.

The d/l is free, but I'm unsure were the link is (have a full english since 1.08)

And the problem is somewhere within the translated code, I kind of "messed up" the tech tree codes, its only a matter of time till i find that darn glinch

Well you only get the standard bugs, not the cross language (which are much worse) set ones

Not realy asked at all, there are not many german players around here (:(

And, without wanting to sound egomanic, I'm probably the most known german player in the community

Da sind ein paar in der European Alliance, denke ich.
Wenn wir großzügig sind kommen wir in der Community vieleicht auf ein dutzend deutschsprachige Member.
Naja, der deutsche distributor war halt mies, Ich hab erst fast zwei Wochen nach dem Releas, und nach langer suche, eine Version in einem Laden gefunden. (:(

hatte ein paar crashs nach dem patchen. aber im forum geistert so ein Thread rum mit dem Titel "Fixes for German + French crashes, And Clean Data files". Mit dem Thread hab ich das Problem behoben.
