Can you tell me exactly where you are getting this error message and what are you doing? Did you get it on the install, or when you tried to run GalcivWriter? Was it in a popup dialog box? What version of Microsoft Windows are you running, and is it fully updated with the latest patches?

Did you install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 first? If not, you should download it from Microsoft. It is available either via Windows Update, or in a standalone package as: http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/a/c/aac39226-8825-44ce-90e3-bf8203e74006/dotnetfx.exe
(But even so, please tell me exactly where you got the error!)

By the way, are you one of the GalcivWriter testers? Because this is still Alpha-level software and buggy. You are welcome to help us debug however. Just be sure to backup the following four directories before you run this version of Galciv Writer (just in case):
..\Stardock\drengin.net\galciv\Data\
..\Stardock\drengin.net\galciv\Mods\
..\Stardock\drengin.net\AltarianProphecy\Data\
..\Stardock\drengin.net\AltarianProphecy\Mods\

If you're not use to dealing with the problems of unstable software, I would suggest you wait until at least the Beta. This will probably be out in 2-3 weeks.

You can email bugreports to [email protected]. There is also a galcivwriter v2.0.0 discussion forum on the Diplomats Empire forum at http://www.diplomats-empire.com/forum

(If you sign up there, I can add you to the list of people with access to that forum.)

It would be a big help if your bugreports came with screen captures. If you don't have any software to make a screen capture, check out the freeware at: http://www.webattack.com/freeware/gmm/fwscreen.shtml

Thanks for your help in testing! (But remember to backup those 4 directories before testing)
