Map editor crash

Hi all,
I had only a single game crash in around 26 hours of game play. My problem is with the map editor, when i run it, it take a max of 10 seconds to have a complete freeze up of my machine!
Also, even if i create (in fact, it's "try to create" because in 10secs it's pretty hard to make a map!) a new map size tiny, i cannot see the entire map in the map editor, so i have to scroll a lot! When i put a single planet, it take approximatively 25% of my screen.
Is there any fix / patches for the map editor? am i the only one with this map editor freeze up problem?
I did the installation of Altarian Prophecy via Stardock Central
