Drengin.net is about to die. Long live Drengin.net!

Tomorrow Drengin.net dies. In its place is TotalGaming.net which is essentially Drengin.net + third party games.  Instead of only Stardock games being on the gaming network, third party games get added as well.

And if you already have a Drengin.net subscription, you are automatically upgraded to TotalGaming.net free of charge.

We're launching it with 3 good games: Disciples II: Ultimate Edition (we took all the Disciples II and expansion packs and merged them together to create a new game), Orb, and Celtic Kings.

Then we're going to add a new game each month for the rest of the year as we prepare our 2005 line up of games.

We're in the process of transitioning now to it. The upgrade price from GalCiv to TotalGaming.net is $60 but given how much stuff you get, that's quite a good deal (especially since the GalCiv II betas will start showing up in January).

Have you tried re-downloading Stardock Central? If you're saying Stardock Central has problems then your best case is to download Stardock Central and reinstall and see if that fixes it.

I'll miss that friendly Drengin offering me games when I start Stardock Central. (:( Still, lots of new games sounds exciting :)

Actually, you can download them now. But Disciples II is a Gig, so those with slow modems should have fun. It takes forever, even with 90K a second.

Took me a while even with a cable modem @400kB/s...so now its too late to play and I have to go sleep. Cant wait for tomorrow! :)

Which reminds me, hopefully you guys noticed we vastly upgraded our pipe. We have a ridiculous amount of bandwidth now. So the download speed should be at whatever the max your setup can take.

90-100K is about the best I get on a cable 10/100 wireless, and it seems to be more stable around those numbers. It used to sometimes fluctuate lower, but it definately is better now. :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :HOT:

Looking through the new additions to the network and they sound fascinating. Can't wait to try them out. :D

I gotta agree with Kevin there. Gonna miss that vicious/friendly guy. :P Hope you at Stardock see lots of success with TotalGaming.net! :)

I too am only on dial up but I bought the Drengin.net as I support the ideal of what Stardock offers.

Is there an option where we can pay extra to have a cds/dvd mailed out to us with all the content (all games) on? This way we would only have to download the patches/upgrades.

Does Stardock Central enable you to restart a download from what you have already done if interrupted?

I'm downloading Disciples II now and managing 200Kb/sec on my cable which is probably my fastest download speed via Stardock to date.

Wow... I found all the new games in SDCentral today and had to investigate... I thought I'd missed months of good gaming! Then I find out that at 4am I'm one of the first people to get in ;)...

This is awesome!!!!

Btw, I notice the price has gone up to $89, but when you click on "buy" (I did so out of curiousity) it still lists Drengin.Net for $69. Probably be cleared up soon ;)

Btw, I'm getting 2.7mbit off the servers through my SBC DSL.... Pretty quick - either there have been server upgrades since prior releases, or the hordes haven't found the releases yet.

Hey - just a thought.... Wouldn't it be nice if we could have additional badges for achievement in other games? ;).... I haven't submitted any GalCiv games to the MultiVerse in quite a while - sure would be nice to get some new badges though!

Would it be possible to add pause/resume buttons to SDCentral? With the new massive downloads it's not always possible to keep a steady connection for hour upon end or to keep the computer on for long enough.

Is there any special reason why the new games are still listed as beta?

Excellent news Brad,

looking forward to downloading them. May need to wait till I upgrade my modem to cable though,

Any chance of adding this to the frontpage of galciv as a news item?

Paul.

Might be that since they're brand new, there might be something wrong with them, like a missing file or such.
