SDC exits without an error message when updating Galciv

I have the latest (Total Gaming) version of SDC. I was able to us it to update AP. But there is a problem when updating Galciv.

The first time I tried to update Galciv, it downloaded about 20% and then there was a CTD. Now, every time I try to update Galciv, SDC immediately exits without even an error message. When I say immediately, I mean it exits in less than 1 sec.

What is wrong?

What version of sdc are you using? These are links to the latest versions of SDC:

http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentral20.exe (full/fresh installs) or http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_current_slim.exe (for updates only, no support dlls)

also, you may need to clear out the temp folder in your stardock folder.

No, there is a backup program in SDC. Explore the directory, and the file is in C:/Program Files/Stardock/SDCentral/restore. That might be it, but it seems like the best candiate. Back it up in case I am horribly wrong, but I think this could help.

Hey, Cari is back! :HOT: BTW, am I right? :)

I'm on 2.00.288 build 56.

I just deleted everything in the C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\Temp\ directory. Now when I go to update, it downloads 52% and then hangs on downloading "galciv.exe_". It just stops.

I hard-deleted everything Stardock related from my computer. Went into the registry and deleted the Stardock keys.

I then freshly installed SDC 2.0.288, Galciv, AP. Everything works now. No problems with SDC.

It must have been a creeping problem from a series of incremental updates to SDC/Galciv/AP. But gone now that I returned to square one and started fresh.

I had the same problem. I redownloaded SDC and reinstalled. No problems thereafter.
