Problems installing GalCiv and running Stardock Central

OK, I seem to be having major issues. I tried to install GalCiv, but I had the problem where it would just lock up on the AutoRun/install screen. So I upgraded my Flash, as I saw this could have been the problem. No luck. I tried to copy the CD to my hard drive, but I was having problems reading the CD. Fine - I'll just install this Stardock Central thing and download the game file. The install for SDCentral went fine, but when I tried to register my game, Stardock crashed. I can't find any help for that.

So I can't read from my disk, and I can't download the game. What do I do? Just take it back?

Well you could try just copying the install files off the disk and running it from the harddrive.

Also, there's a standalone version linked to from the downloads section where you can enter your serial to download it.

Also, did the link to the sdcentral you installed have 20 in it?

Again, I was having problems reading from the disk when I tried to move the files over to my hard drive. So I wasn't able to install that way.

I didn't see a stand-alone version in the downloads section. All I found there was the 1.2 patch, which states that you have to have GalCiv installed before you run it.

And yes, I installed and re-installed the latest version of SDCentral. I got that directly from www.stardock.com. It was definitely 2.0.

When does it crash exactly? What are the steps you take to make it crash. Also are you running any sort of security software that may be stopping it from getting to the internet? Are you able to download anything from the free stuff section properly? Also this is a link to the newest beta of StardockCentral:

If for some reason you still have issues after that, please send an email [email protected] with your serial number, and they will get you a direct link.

Thanks for the help so far. I start up SDCentral, and I input my CD Key under Galactic Civilizations. I don't look at any of the other products or anything. Once I hit OK, the program crashes.

I'm pretty sure I had my anti-virus turned off when I did that. I'll try again with the new beta version tonight once I get home.
