Question about game download

from Stardock Forums
I am weary about downloading software from a site...what if something happens and I lose the files for the game? (IE: comp crashes, viruses corrupting the game files, etc) Will I be able to download another copy for free using my serial number?

I have heard that with games like these (direct downloads, constant software updates after the game release, etc) it's essentially the serial number that you're paying for, not necessarily the game itself.

I love strategy games and this blows all of the others away...cant wait to start playing (addicted to the demo right now...how sad is that? lol)

As long as you have the serial, you can keep downloading it. also, you can burn the downloaded files to cd.

Can it be that SDC still has problems with backup files not created by archiving after installation? I tried installing from an archive right now, and after restarting SDC, it had forgotten anything about it.

ARGGG! It happened...knew it would...!!!

I downloaded it, and got about 1 hour into a game when the game just froze (I gotta bad comp) I had to reboot and all that, and now the game wont play when I try to open it. I am going to wait until I can buy some blank cd's (to back the files up on so I can 're-install as needed') and then re-download it. Anyone know where I can do that?

What computer, OS, and devices do you have? I'd really like to help, galciv is a lot of fun.

It's window's XP.

Yeah, I liked to Civ III a lot, but it just doesnt have the dimensions that GalCiv does. Cant wait to play
