Micromanagment

I'm assuming it's important, i've been taking out normal enemies with ease but when i up it to bright and inteligent, i've been having trouble, except for one game i believe that was small and won with alliance. I've been having trouble with them getting close to ally, what helps with this. Finnaly I always end up going far into debt and having to set my spending to about 50% for anything me to be into the positive. Thanks for your time please leave help.

Starting the game with as much diplomatic and influence bonus as possible will help get the AI to like you.

That by itself is not enough though.

Set up trade routes, trade techs for cash or techs for techs. This will get them to like you and provide you with cash.

Try not to trade any diplomatic tech to the AI because you want to keep that bonus as much to yourself as possible. The AI will eventually get it but the goal here is to keep your diplo bonus higher than the AI's.

Get the Diplomatic Trade good. If you can't build it then trade for it. This bonus is key.

Money management is complicated. Here are some tips.

Do not build everything. Almost everything requires a monthly maintenance fee. Search the strategy forum for social build order.

By keeping your morale at 100% you can raise your tax rate until the morale drops. Keep that tax rate set so that you are still maxed out at 100% morale.

Set up the longest trade routes possible. The longer the route the more money that is being made.

Did I tell you not to build all social projects? I know I did. This is very important.

When you take over a planet from an AI check the planet details and cancel projects that you don't need.

For example, you do not necessarily require planetary defence on the planets that are in your back lines.

Only key planets building ships should have the building that confer ship bonuses.

Never have any building that costs 5BC period. There is no need for it.

You should not require more than 2/3 of the building that give morale bonuses. Planets with a high PQ should not require as much morale boosters as planets with a lower PQ.

I hope that this helps you out a bit.
