Altarian Prophecy Questions

I was thinking about getting that expansion pack. But I had a few questions first. I've heard that you can fully customize game settings, maps, victory conditions, etc. Is this trumped-up, or true?

for example: If I wanted to, could I make a game with myself, 3 smaller races, and the Drengin in which I had to forge alliances with (and supply) the smaller races to defeat the superior Drengin?

Could I choose my number of oppenents? the level of tech they start with? where in the game they start? etc? Or am I expecting too much?

You could do stuff like that with the combination of map and scenario editor.
Thats what most of your wishes would require

Chosing the number of AIs can be done by clicking on the majors images on the difficulty/alignment screen

Icho Tolot has filled you in real well. The AP expansion is well worth the money it allows all of us to finally be able to create some great Mods/scenarios for the game. I had grown a little bored with the original one. I now am addicted to the game like never before.
