Which should I be playing?

I just downloaded GalCiv 1.21 and Altarian Prophecy 1.51. My question is which should I play? Are they really that much different? I know AP has campaign play while Gal Civ does not, but does AP have everything else that Gal Civ has, just updated? If so, then theres no reason to play Gal Civ 1.21 right? Thanks for info.

You can try out 1.21 if you'd like. The major differnence between the two would be that 1.51 has two more AI races. 1.51 also will earn you more meta points when you submit.

You have to have GC 1.21 loaded in addtion to AP to play AP. I think this is correct.

If you have a choice, go with AP. You can turn of the 2 new AI if you do not like them. AP gives you a better score.

AP is the way to go.

You do need to have GC 1.21 loaded but there is no reason to play it.

Thanks for the info. I've been playing GalCiv 1.21 for quite a while now. Still trying to figure out how to stop from going to -500 in debt and going straight downhill from there :( I'll switch over to AP and give that a try.
