Influence / Minor Races

Is this really possible?!

I mean, look at that starmap! I own the universe! How can two little dinky, sorry, no-account minor civs be ranked ahead of me in influence? They should be BOWING before my influence, and wearing all Terran-brand T-shirts and listening to the funky Terran music!

Thats the Carinoids. They have an incredible influence - cultural imunity. You won't be able to culturally flip them, as like the normal majors

There are two "influences"
1. influence = how many influence points in a sector you have (to determine ownership of the sector)
2. influence = how many influence points you have to calculate a vote in UP council. This influence gets reseted each time the vote is held. However, minors do not vote and their "voting influence" is never reseted.

Probably the game just lists by voting influence available. Check in the dialog with a race how many influence points they have to sell (it is voting influence).

That raises an interesting question. In the Diplomacy screen, if you're trading Influence points, does that affect anything else other than the UP vote?

Cuz if so, I'm going to start just trading those things away like mad. I don't care what those goofballs vote for. ;)

The funny part about rating is that the empire with negative treasury is considered richer than an empire with any positive treasury. Just a small bug with variable type in the comparison procedure :SURPRISED:
