How to Recruit

I know this is probably a stupid question, but how do I recruit other players to join my empire (the Sovereign League) in the Metaverse. Right now I'm holding my own in the top ten just by myself, but I'd really like to combine forces with some other players (especially this Andrew Chai guy who won't give me that #1 spot on the player's list!
