Good initiative, gherado! Yeah, what do you want us to focus at.

Currently I'm reporting everythin I come across. That seems a bit disorganized..

Right now not too much in those areas. Just general reports are fine.

We weren't sure, for instance, if that robot animation would even work on non XP machines. That was the main point of this alpha was to see if the engine functions and see how Drengin operates.

That's why we only invited like 8 of you, since there's not that much to do.

But we can talk about how things work and how you would like them to work along with talking about game ideas in general. Brain storming and such.

OK, major issues:
- installation process didn't create shortcuts
- I cannot build/research anything. Just pile money.
- the interface is not intuitive, I liked/used much more the OS/2 one
- it's not clear what ship you are moving beside possibly looking at the name in the small box. can't imagine what happens when you have 30 ships of the same model and have all the aiming points around...
- right click not really used in general. Ex: would like to set autoroute for ships with the right click and not the most used left one.
- the right column get stuck to showing sol system and to go back I've managed to right-click in the space view. Not intuitive this way.
- would like to have pop-up hints where appropriate
- main viewing area should have a customizable zoom factor and generally change depending on the galaxy size
- when colonizing no description appears, just a list of planets to the right column and possibly a system choice ship on the left :(
- fog factor not bad but can't understand why I see planets spots in the galaxy view and not in the zoomed view :)
- you should visually let us know what functions/buttons are implemented and what not so we can discriminate better (different colors?)
That's enough for today.

You can't resarch anything? Press the research button on the bottom and choose the tech you want to research.

The ship you control has brackets around it.

Right click is used to select ships and look at data on things.

Fog of war is buggy. ;)

Does it really make sense to put development time to show a feature that isn't in when it could be better spent implementing the feature?

You can research/produce, you just have to increase spending.

Beside each planet is a number between 1 and 20. That is a quality rating. 20 is best.

But I agree with the mouse issue. Left click to select, right click to execute an action.

Mmm...sorry Brad and the rest...I'm not too fond of the mouse handling either. I hope it makes better cense later on with all features built in...otherwise - Im skeptic :-/

gotta agree about mouse actions. we are getting used to it but when the game goes public there will be problems.

single left click to select
right click on a square to pop up a small menu. with "Move here" option. and other context sensitive options. like blockade, attack, patrol.

what you all think?

..and perhaps information on the content of the square? The amount could depend on your relation with the planet or ship in that square?

Say: Friendly Torian Republic Transport - if you were on good terms with them?

Otherwise, a good idea..

I _have_ to work on really reading your posts. Well, I read them, but the content gets flushed from day to day.

Just saw my suggestion was basically mirrored in the second post by gherardo.

Agreed. BTW, who is Frogboy?

I also agree with jlegere and xsiv-iq about the ship infos.

I got more than one Ship brackets at a time and also 2 ships on the same square, and one was not mine...
How do I reset the automove?
How to circle between ships? If I click on one the active ship belive that I've requested to go there so I'm puzzled... think this should be scratched and one idea is still to remake it similar to the os/2 version.

I have a spending level of 28%, have selected social and military projects, but nothing happens. It says "no resources" :(

Bestplanet used to be 27 (never found a 30 one) in OS/2 not 20. Is it because OS/2 is still that far better than winxx? ;p
