Hunt for the best starting location

Well, first off: yes, I am crazy. That having been taken care of, let me present the online GalCiv Game Manager:

In my everlasting hunt for the ultimate starting location (CTRL+N until you drop), I needed a tool to help me calculate which starting location would win. The principle is simple: enter a number of planets and their initial qualities, and by help of a rating system calculate which starting location is the best.

I usually go about it like this: set up the new game (preferably with rare or uncommon habitable planets), see if the starting location is to my liking, add it to the Game Manager and save the game. CTRL+N until I find a good one, add it to the manager... and when I have finally found my class 26 planet starting location, the Game Manager tells me which if that actually is the best suited for a new game.

Example: Sol has one class 17 planet, there are two adjacent star systems, one with a class 13, and a class 15 planet, the other with a class 15 planet. This seems like a good point to start, but is it better than the one with the class 20 and class 17 planets in the sol system, and a class 14 planet in the adjacent star system?

Sometimes it's not easy to decide - now whether you're an opportunist and also take class 13 planets, or a VIP who's not going for anything less than a class 17 planet, choose an according rating preset and the Game Manager will tell you which game is good for you :)

Enough talk - you can launch the Game Manage from my Alternate Governors website (also for GalCiv) - just click on Game Manager:

WARNING: it currently only works with Mozilla or Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org), so if you want to test it, you'll need one of those browsers. IE will NOT work. I'm working on making it compatible though :)
