When will Galciv be registered to the desktop start menu?

Just curious. If it is supposed to be there now, it isn't on mine.

With the current build, I think the Component Manager team wanted the games to be accessable primarilly through the CM. I'm sure the stand alone version of GalCiv will be plopping its Icon on your desktop though :)

I would like to mention that this became a serious impedement to my testing GalCiv this weekend. My ISP developed
modem problems that made it almost imposible to dial into the net. That and the "purple and pink screen of death"
kinda curtailed my testing very seriously. Had GalCiv been on the desktop "START" menu somewhere, I would have been
able to do more testing.

Yeah, it's sad that DGM doesnt work if you arent connected to Internet. However, it's possible to start galciv manually as you probably know :)

Got it. Forgot to try an MS prompt CD'ed to the GalCiv directory. Tried the direct method and it failed (double clicked on the
icon in the GalCiv directory for GalCiv.EXE). Has anyone tried using "add program"? I suspect this may cause problems later.

That's what I am worried about. Once they start registering shortcuts to the start menu and/or the desktop will
our having created our own cause problems of some sort?
