Nevermind. I think this was self inflicted. I recently added a new hadr drive and reinstalled everything, icluding GalCiv, and installed the new patched version and THEN copied my old games over to the save directory. I started a new game and the tab worked fine, hence why I said it seems to be self inflicted.
