GalCiv 2 website...

The "maybe" part is what worries me. Who can I pay off to take the "maybe" off of here? :)

BTW: has anyone else noticed that in GC2 screen shots in the above link.. that some planets are larger than 1 sector grid.. (look at the big blue gas giant.. its 2*2)

I wonder if that is actually a *star*, rather than a planet. As the comments mentioned, planets are now put directly on the map, but perhaps there is still the concept of "star systems" (a star, with a few planet/moons in the squares around it.)

I dunno. Maybe not. Either way, gimme gimme gimme.

The pictures don't show up for me! :sniff!:
It just has a square with a X at the top right.
How can I see them? I have AOL if that matters.
Thank you in advance for any help.

As Frogboy posted in official thread on mainpage, the Galactic Civilizations 2 won't have multiplayer option :(. *Maybe* there will be expansion pack adding this feature.

Dont think so.

As I understand it to make a game multi requires more then a patch.

When I looked at it I think that we are seeing size diference to make us think depth distance (x,y,z) not just x,y

its still on x,y but looking 3d ie: objects (ships / planets) are 3d rendered and positioned so that the middle of the objects intersect the x,y plane

Arnor? What the heck is Arnor? It sounds too LOTR
End of quote

Oh PVZh don't start complaining before the game is even released, we should all just be thankful that their making another game witch I sure they'll do great on. ;) And besides instead of complaining, we could make more helpful suggestions and more of what we want in the game! :)

The Arnor are one of the two "creator" races. I can't remember the name of the other one, but they were the "good creators". There are occasional references to them and the "evil creators" ingame during a few of the special events.

Dreadlords, baby! Dreadlords!

And the Encyclopedia entries make the Arnor sound just as bad as the Dreadlords. It's the MILRATH (or whatever they're called) who came even before THOSE two disgusting races who are the REAL good guys.

They'll show up in GC3, no doubt. ;)

That page is like a year old btw.

The name we're going with is Galactic Civilizations II: Dreadlords

The graphics in that screenshot aren't representativ eof the final game's look, just a sample of what the engine will allow (i.e. planets being on the actual map rather than having to clickity click on a star then click again on a planet).

There will be a thorough preview this Fall for Altarian Propechy owners and then a beta next year.
