email notifications of thread updates

My SDC got updated last weekend, and since then I've been getting email notification whenever the "Question for Technician" thread is updated. I've posted to a number of other threads, and expected to get a notification for those threads also, but none have been forthcoming. What's up?

I don't know. I'll ask TMan.

I'm an idiot. I figured out in the middle of the night last night that, on the same day SDC updated itself, I must have accidentally clicked on "watch thread" when I was trying to click on "quote". That probably explains it.

Is there a way to "unwatch" a thread? I tried clicking on "Show My Watch List", but that just brought up what appeared to be an ancient (really ancient) thread with Frogboy talking about the GC alpha test program.

Ouch depending on when you clicked on the watch icon you could of had many emails.

I think you just need to click the 'watch' icon again.

Thanks, I just tried that, we'll see if it worked. ;)

Fortunately it seems to limit itself to one email a day, no matter how many posts are made. Based on my own experience as a programmer (oh, excuse me, I'm now called a software engineer ;) ) I bet that change was made very early in the Stardock test cycle.

I personally think that when your watched read change status from read to unread posts, you get an e-mail. Next posts won't generate mail since the thread has already unread posts.
