My perspective on owning this product, and welcoming those on the fence.

Let me pop in a comment here about post such as Gezz's where he stated he was going the extra effort to purchase this product even though he has easy access to boot leg copies. (By the way the final product is far better in game balance, I know.)

I am right in the US of A. Lakewood just south of Tacoma Washington. And yet I am in a sub culture FAR removed from normal society. I have multiple disabilities. Mental illness and transient strokes. The people I associate with in person are in simular situations, support groups. We are one step away from homelessness. Yet for a small percentage of us healthy enough to pursue intellectual stimulation like GalCiv; we have the desire to aquire a chance to use this type of entertainment to help us focus our kenetic exhausting (manic) thought patterns.

And to find a gem like this we all have to filter through many offerings that are woefully inadiquate (MOO3, C&C G in my particular book). And use what ever means are available to evaluate these $50-$30 offerings before actually purchasing any title including GalCiv. I spend no more than $70 a month on groceries. And have nothing left at the end of the month. Gezz was being very honest about his enviroment in Turkey, and was paying tribute to Stardock that he felt GalCiv was worth his sparce money.

Personnaly to be honest this 38 year old man had to return MY copy of GalCiv because MY checking account got messed up by my bank by a few dollars. Then about a week later, yesterday in fact, after the bank corrected my account, I sqweeze that $43.51 back out, and bought a fresh copy and updated my CD Key. I haven't even taken the disk out of the gewel case because i already had the game loaded. This community and the developers honest interest, enthusiazim, maturity and desire to improve upon this highly original effort, are compelling reasons to value this product so high in my $792 dollar a month world. It was a no brainer that I wanted to purchase this product. Soon my internet acces will be terminated. And I will only have access via the local library system probably on a weekly basis, yet I value this forum even in with my soon limited access.

We may live in the same country but we don't neccasarily life in the same culture. Terms like rapid thinking, inappropriate guilt, fragmented cognition, severe transient loss of speach and writing ability, inability to earn a decent consistant living, are faroughn to most of you. And I am VERY glad that is the case. Yet we can share enthusiasim and effort to nurture this fine entertainment vehicle. All kinds of people are going to be posting here. From all over the world and next door. I welcome them all that post with honest mature supportive comment and have made a best effort to purchase this product as best they can.

Let us show compassion and patience.

Brads business structure will take care of it's self, piracy is not such a great issue. Because the product has too much to offer the a true client.

Peace and love.

Your welcome. This morning I had planned to write something else in particular for this forum. Along the lines of patience with the, frustrated rookies and the frayed nerves of the end of day stress that turns into self doubt and quickly become anger, overworked, under released human beings that even in play can easily become bitter. It happens to us all, but for today I am pooped. So I will write it (and spell check it) another day, but soon.
