what kind of graphic mods can we do?

and how easy are they to do? for example, i was looking at the instruction manual online. the resource icons are colored shapes that are hard for me to remember. i want to make the red triangle for military resource into a sword and shield, the pruple science one into a beaker/microscope, etc.

do i have to go through hoops to edit those or are they simple graphic image files i can easily replace?

I have heard that they will release a utility (part of bonuspak) that will alow you to put in your own graphics.
