Well, here I am again with nothing better to do...so I have devoted my time to show people emus and maybe to educate them also. Quite frankly, I've met people that have no idea what an emu is....(I have some now, you'd know if you read the other article)...so I'll do a noble thing and teach ya'll a little something...(Oh, and all Australians...I'm very sorry, I know this looks stupid and awkward, but if you have anything else to add, feel free!)
Well, this shows a few chicks...as you can see the chicks have a striped fur-like coat that gives them a good bit of camouflage.
Who's a pretty bird?
Ok, here's a nest...which the MALE(Thank you) sits on for around 54 days (almost 2 months!!!) to hatch the little guys without moving much if at all...(Without food, water, or bathroom privileges)
And that is your typical emu right there....BEWARE the claws on the feet...they are sharp as heck and will give you a good slash if provoked. Also strangely enough they like to swim....interesting for a non-waterfowl. Most emus grow to between 5ft and 6ft tall...intimidating, yes?...Hehe...anyway, I'm still an amateur and could use any advice or other facts people have...anyone at all, don't be shy....LOL...and comments and questions are appreciated also...
